the hound looks like he has a very bad sinus infection, crap coming out his eyes and nose. no high temp, loss of appetite, kinda acts lifeless.anyone ever seen this symptoms like this?

been to two vets, amoxciline 500mgs and clindamycin drops.the drops helped the eyes but he still is no better. If he dosent come out of this by end of this week, going to put him down.

how long has this been going on???

What have the vets said about the symptoms and how long has he been on the meds? Did you mean he has no appetite or is not having any trouble with his appetite?
You said he did not have a high fever, but is he running a fever at all?

There are alot of unanswered questions to make an assumption, but WHY would you put him down just because he's got some crud that has not been diagnosed. I am sure that with the proper care, he would recover just fine.

There are many treatable possibilities for what is going on with your dog. Sinusitis, tracheobronchitis, parainfluenza, etc.

Here is a link that (if you can understand it, it's a veterinary manual) may help.
http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index ... 121619.htm

You can search by symptom or search by body system function or common diseases.

Hope this helps.

My first thought after reading the symptoms was distemper but I don't know why two Vets wouldn't have diagnosed that. I have seen it many times when I was a kid but not much since then. What's the age of the dog and has the dog been vaccinated for distemper?

those vets said anything nothing about distemper, they checked him over said everything was good about the hound except for this sinus crap, last night the hound eat for the first time in two days.I think those drops clindamycin hydrochloride drops really is helping the hound. I have other hounds with none showing any signs of this.

all my hounds get a duramune max 5 once a year.still anything can happen.I know that. Just really hard to set and watch something I care for suffer.and there be no fix for it.

thanks
