A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
My name is Ashlee, and Im from Michigan. I was searching online for people to talk to about beagles. I have a beagle named Jake. I adopted him from the shelter on Valentinesday this year. I volunteered there and the little guy was on borrowed time, so I got to take him in. I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about beagles, but I have enjoyed him and that howling lol. He's 5 years old, and I know he isn't a show dog/hunting dog, I just wanted to see what other beagle people have to say about their dogs and hopefully learn something new. I have him in obiedence class and hes doing quite well. He is the most friendliest dog I have ever met. Anyways heres a pic, I hope im still welcome here?

ASHLEE, YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. THESE GUYS WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING THEY KNOW, WHAT THEY DON'T KNOW THEY MAKE UP. LOL
WELCOME ABOARD FOR SURE, GOOD LUCK WITH JAKE.

Ashlee, I bet if you took that hound to the bush he would find some rabbits to chase. I started mine around 5 and 7 years old. The old one is gone and the younger is pushing 12. She sure loves to chase those rabbits. Do lots with your beagle and don't worry about negative from dog trainers. Beagles learn, just on beagle time. The nose and stubbornness is hard to ovecome! Try agility if you want to laugh!
