Unbelievable. 10 years old - I can't believe how the years go by. Ranger was like one of your earlier dogs, and I know you loved him like a God-given child... I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

-- Unknown

I love( Loved) Ranger more than anyone would ever know,,,I loved him as much as my own daughters,,,,to see him suffer was to much! I didnt want him to suffer,,,,he was wagging his tail till the end as if to say I'll be alright mom,,,,I love you little man,,,,,,,,,,,,My sweet Ranger

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the words and memories. That was a tough hole to dig  Ranger took me on the ride of my life! I will never forget the time we had together. Mr. Ramsey told me Ranger may never make a Champion but he would never embarass me...and he was kinda right, he never made me ashame to own him, but he did make a Champion after finishing 2nd 20+ times, lol. Thanks Ron and Jim...Ranger never did anything but make me proud. I couldnt have been prouder of anything than I was the day Ranger and Leroy was in the run offs. Thanks for the ride boys.......you will be missed until we hook up again on the other side.

Randy

Hey Randy and Shannon, Sorry to hear of your loss. Man I did not realize you also lost Trade. Wasn't Trade the one that Max ran with that day and we were betting who they would pick up first. If I remember right Max won that bet. LOL cya, Paul
