That was well said Pete Young, you sound smart enough that we might let you cross the Ohio and join our mafia  .Guys we can moan about this or my pet peeve, certifieing champions but it will NEVER happen. :!: ARHA/NKC is all about the money and LP is the cash cow.Guess I will just stay a gunner and attend a couple a year to stay in the loop. ;) As for K. Monroe I don't know him personally but he convinced me to drive 4 hours to buy a pup from him just from what he said on the phone in a conversation about beagles. After running with him for a few hours when I picked up Cinder I knew that I had just spent some time with a guy that knows hounds. He told me a couple of his secrets for his success in big hunts and they involve time and more time.More time that anyone else I know of.Don't know Tony at all but he sounds like a serious competitor.....I have run into that type outside of beagles and whether they really are jerks or just serious about winning they take the level of competition up to a new level, thats not who I am but I have learned to have respect for a win at all cost competitor.I know if I want to win I have to bring the best.Jimmy you said you were topped off with Ohio buddies, regrettable because we have so much to offer. :D Seriously though, hope someday I can come down and run my all-Ohio bred potlicker with kentucky hounds as long as there are no guns or long knives involved.

I find it interesting that the same guys who claim to trial for fun and dont think we should worry so much about size are the same ones that will admit they bring oversize hounds to "stack the deck in their favor"......As a judge when I see a hound squat or lay down on the measuring stand I have the owner take the dog for a walk....if the dog still wont stand, the dog gets proped up as close to its normal stance as possible.....

I personaly love to own a dog that stands up proud, puffs his chest out and says "I'M THE DOG TO BEAT, COME AND GET SOME OF THIS".......

ive said all i need to say (and then some ;) ) on this topic so i will leave it to jimmie.

i guess there will always be people who think the rules are for everyone else except them. thats a shame but thats how life in general seems to work also.

Can anyone call me and give the names of flyboyc141 and mac40391. Because its sounds like they have never beaten me in a cast. I would like to help them find some dog power. A quote from Sammy Wells " dog up" That means get a better dog and stop crying. 740-775-3653

Tony, Don't let these guys rattle your cage. Blueman, Grizz, Max, all speak for themselves. The people that KNOW you, know that you're a stand up man, that's all that matters!

When Jason said stand up man was that in reference to someone being short? I thought maybe he was trying to be funny.

Check this ..... someone said a beagle is to be 15" well I found this on a site for beagles.....
Weight and Size:
It is desirable that height from ground to withers should neither exceed 40 cm (16 in) nor fall below 33 cm (13 in).

Breed varieties

The American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club recognize two separate varieties of Beagle: the 13-inch for hounds less than 13 inches, and the 15-inch for those between 13 and 15 inches. The Kennel Club (UK) and FCI affiliated clubs recognize a single type, with a height of between 13 and 16 inches.

Lets see the dogs originated over seas but yet we cant accept that, we have to include our own american ideas into everything.

dont get me wrong I perfer a 14 to 15" Beagle and dont want any bigger than that but if you want to make a decision that makes sense stick with what the dog was bred to be. If you want different start your own breed. That is probably why we have downsized from foxhounds.
