Wow, I'm supprised that people would talk down about someone who obviously takes COMPETITION very seriously, and expects the RULES to be followed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and another person watched the man that had the dog measured cheat when he didn't think nobody was watching and as a result won his cast... that too was shame so
SO HE TOO APPARENTLY DOESN'T GO BY THE RULES AS WELL... only when the things start to heat up

my first trip to the world and i was amazed by the size of the dogs. i
have some good size hounds not over 15"s but good size and they looked
like pups up against some that i seen. i ask a couple of guys i know and
they told me if you want to compete you have to have them. so that tells
me they bring them knowing they are oversized. i think they should all
be measured before the hunt and if they don't stand cullem or send them
home. one inch on a hound is not only in height if you lay them down with
a right sized hound they are extremely longer which means their gait is
longer and easier which will make them faster and last longer at a high
rate of speed. seems like a unfair advantage.

I agree with Island. I made one trip to the world hunt and was amazed at the size of many of the dogs. We took a hound that was a good 14 1/2" and he looked like a pocket beagle to some of the dogs I saw. Later on this dog made RCH and I was once again amazed at the size of many of the champion dogs.
I can't fault the fella for having the dog measured as the rules allow, but hate it for the guy and his dog that apparently got DQ'd.

If you measure dogs before the hunt then entries are going down by at least 40 %. . So i dont see that happening from a financial view , in my little world if i can run ahorse i will. Why run a pony at the horse show ?
There needs to be a cutoff i fill 15 is it . I dont see the problem ,things are as they are and thats the bottom line . I have ran against several big dogs but i aint gonna measure it out cuz then i am the bad guy , bring em on i say , its only a hour not a day .

have you ever thought that maybe there would be a increase of 40%
from people that would go because they wouldn't have to run against a
oversized hound. if everyone followed the rules at hand there would be
no need in having a bad guy. the only bad guy would be the one bringing
the oversized hound.

If your going to bring the horses to the pony race, why not bring the coon hounds? Gee, I wonder if they would let me enter a horse in a grayhound race....I bet I could win, and wouldnt that be fun......Im afraid to many guys are placing winning above everthing like integrity and love for the sport....I just hope you guys that run oversize dogs in the trials realize what others think of you..........I wonder if you are the ones that complain after a trial that nobody congradulated you and your horse......hum!!

as far as im concerned who cares if somone has a dog over 15 inches. When i go to the cast stake i dont even pay any attention to the size of the dogs because everyone paid their 15 or 20 dollars to run their hound let them run. If i get beat im still gonna shake your hand and tell you good luck next round regardless if your hound is 13 inches or 16 inches. What happend at the world hunt sounds like bologna. That boy drove all that way to run his hound and have a good time but some prick has to ruin his trip because his hound was a 1/4 inch over. If you ask me thats sorry and if i have to have hounds measured so i have a chance to win the cast, i need to invest in a new dog.

RULE CHANGE
HEY ""
THE FASTEST DOG I HAVE SAW RUN WAS" 13" INCHES AND I HAVE SAW MOST OF THE BLOOD LINES ,,I AGREE WITH THE 15 INCH RULE ,,BUTTTT THE GUY HOLDING THE 12 3/4 OR 13 INCH DOG WILL RARELY EVER SAY ANYTHING IT'S ALWAYS THE GUY WITH THE 15 OR 14 7/8 DOG,, BECAUSE HE DOES NOT HAVE MUCH ,,CONFIDENCE,, IN,, HIS,, DOG. HE ALREADY HAS A 2 INCH ADVANTAGE OVER THE LITTLE DOG .IF I CAN'T BEAT,, YOU,, I WANT,, MEASURE,, YOU .I WAN'T RUN A BIG DOG BECAUSE SOONER OR LATER THIS WILL HAPPEN. I TRY TO STAY IN THE 15 IN RULE .BUT THIS IS A GOOD DEBATE ANYWAY.
