Has anyone hunted these states? Which one provides the best hunting opportunities for small game, mainly rabbits and upland birds? Which are hunter friendly with game laws and available hunting areas.
Im looking at Central Kansas, Southern Missouri, Eastern Kansas and Western Kentucky as future military assignments and must always consider the fringe benefits (quaility hunting) thanks!
P.S. I can assure you southern Iraq is not quality hunting in case any of you were thinking about moving here!

mybeagles,
First of all I just want to say "THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU FELLAS ARE DOING OVER THERE. Keep your head down and come home safe."
As to your question.....Yes. I can't speak for MO, or KS but western Kentucky and southern ILL. have some good runnin ground and are pretty hunter friendly. Even the southwestern tip of Indiana.

I also say a big THANKS. I can only speak for Iowa. We have an excellent small game population, especially those cottontails. Plenty of public land to hunt also, and if you do your homework you can get into some pretty nice private places also. I'm not sure what the law is, but I'm pretty sure if you are active duty you don't need a liscence or a nonresident tag. You might want to check up on that though.

mid--mo hunting
mybeagles,
Can't speak to all the locations you mentioned, but I do hunt around and northwest of the Lake of the Ozarks.
If you get stationed close and want to hunt next season, let me know and we will go.
Have dogs, will travel.
