blue sly kennel is located in michigan, I have seen several fogs out of his kennel. he does have some nice hounds. I have only seen one bad out of his kennel and that was a female that was bought by a guy from his kennel and she had hip displsea. Other than that I realy like some of the hounds that are in his kennel and that have came out of that kennel. I have ran against him in trials. some tough hounds to bet. robert smilowski is the owner and his wife linda 1517 crouch rd, jackson.mi phone is 517-784- 7377. best time to get ahold of him is around 6pm.

Chain Rock, I have a 6 1/2 year old male out of Bobs kennel. He is out of Bandit and Bunji but these are older dogs. He has been putting out good stuff for a long time, really knows his dogs. For what it's worth, the male I have placed 9th at 2004 LP world in the opens and he had a female place last year in the champs, also a pup on the bench if im'e not mistaken

blue sly line

Post by blitzen4 »

The Blue Sly line of dog is based on the johnny paycheck dog, however Bob should be given alot of credit for improving on that strain as he has introduced other line bred dogs into his line to get a desired result and has done very well with it. His dogs have very good hunt, nose, brains and foot. I'm not saying every dog he has produced is a world beater but he has produced many a champion and grand champion in several of the formats. One could do alot worse when selecting a line of dog. Dave

Bob and Linda are real good people!!!! Sometimes that's half the battle! I've run into guys who have good dogs but they themselves are not worth doing business with.
I've owned several dogs from Bob's kennel, and I've always been pleased!
Bob's Sophie female is AWSOME!!!!!! And she's throwing nice pups too!

Adam is correct. Bob and his family are nice people. Bob is very knowledgable about dogs. His Sophhie Bitch is one of the nicest hounds I've EVER seen run. And She is throwing nice pups. I have a female out of her and Smoke-N-Cigar. Blue Sly White Lightnin Brandy. She is really turning out to be a nice Hound.

The best male I have ever owned came from Bob a dog named Blue Sly Ace of Spades ARHA name Red Barn Ace of Spades. Actually I purchased this male from Cliff Troxell as a 8 month old started male. I ran him till he was purchased from me by Gene George then to Ferrell Smith then to Mr. John Davis who owns him now. Ace is out of Shiawasee Bottom Moon and McCutcheon's Eastview Belle. He had a littermate named McCutcheon's Eastview Thumper could not tell you where Thumper is. If you think Sophie is good you should see her littermate sister run West Michigan Visa Gold owned by Steve Vantuinen a solid steady running female actually I think she is Hall of Fame ARHA and quite a few places in AKC Large Pack. Hope this helps

Howard I tried to buy Thumper from Don a while ago and it was a no-go. Ace is a true black and tan he is a Dual Grand now he was only 2 wins away in field and a Grand on bench when I sold him. I will say this for the old man he could flat roll a bunny, and hunt extremely hard for a male whether it was 100 degrees or 0. As all dogs do he only had a small flaw he was not the most laoveable dog in the world. He handled and came in but would never come up and jump on anyone or want to be loved on. When I got him from Cliff he was scared to death of people would not even come out of his house when someone came near him probably why I got him so cheap this was not Cliff's doing he came there that way. Ace could flat drive a rabbit was not the fastest dog in some packs but man if they hesitated or looked around for help or thought to long he was gone with it and time to catch him. He took second last year in Grands at World hope to see him again this year. Good Luck with Thumper I think he is a red male isn't he.
