Used my new collars today, unfortunetly.

Post by BAYOU »

I have not been running my dogs (3, 6 month olds) since i had a deer race and have not wanted to chance another. I got them out today with the collars even though I didn't want to use them for a few days while they are wearing them so they don't associate the shock with the collar unless they run a deer. Well right before leaving they started to burn one up so i got in better position to see whats going on and low and behold a nice big buck runs by me, a mere 20 yards away. Just to make sure I waited for them to come within sight and run the same track as the deer and they did. So I first hit dog #1 on level 3 for about 5 seconds and then switched to dog #2 for about five seconds then to dog #3 for seconds. Well they still wanted to run him so level 6 for what seemed like a long 8 seconds put them down and they knocked it off. I know its for the better but level 6 will sure put the hurtin on them, feel a little bad but I know its for the best. I guess I will have to set them up to see if they still want to run deer. By the way I got the new g-2's, 4 dog and they work well so far
