Good question deerfield, I don't even think Rick knows exactly, he was at stud down in kentucky for a while. All I do know is most of the pups I've seen out of him I like a lot.

I have a male out of Syris that I bred to my female that goes back to Woofman. Pups are due in March. I am anxious to see the outcome of this breeding. They should be great hunters.

Hey deerfield sounds like a nice linebreed cross you have there, woofman was who I was gonna breed my female to but he is recently deceased a lot of people i've talked to said woofman was the next best thing to sy he just wasn't campained like him, woofman is a brother to sy but out of the first cross of Big Sam and Kendra I believe. If I wasn't breeding my female this year I would be interested in a pup deerfield.

I think Rick would be the best person to give you an idea of how many times Syris was bred. But as said before, Syris stood stud in KY for a while and there was some question as to how many times he was actually bred while down there. One time I heard the number 19 used - but others suspect he was bred much more than that. Rick would be the best one to talk to.

I dont own any Sy pups but have had the pleasure of running and competing against Mayhem. She is a good solid female. Good true mouth, runs up front in the pack and can handle it, but has the brains to slow it down when she needs to. All in all she is a good hound, and you would be hard pressed to find a better guy than her owner, Steve Morgan, to run with.

deerfield, I spoke to you on the phone about Baron and Bugsy. I don't think I had told you that whole litter had 3 females and 2 males. 2 of the females went down south and one of the females is still here in central Indiana.

The dam of those pups had only been trialed about 4 times and already had a win in the field and on the bench in UKC. She is now in Texas and I would guess is just a house pet down there but she was one of the best dogs I've seen hunt.

I'm sure you'll enjoy hunting and trialing with Baron and Bugsy when he mends up.

Deerfield, she is out of S and E's bag of Tricks owned by Suzette Sayre's in Ohio, Trixie also is the dam of the 2003 UKC world champion Sayre's Jumpin Janey. She goes back to Sock It To Me breeding.

78 i have only Sy blood in my kennels except for 1 and it's a Patch male, i also have Blue sy bloodline also, it's a total of 8 hounds out of Sy which i plan to to cross this year which will be out of blue sy and sy bloodline.
I will tell you i have stuck to this line for several years, and haven't had any regrets for doing so, i have bred my male out of sy alot with great results. My male out of blue sy got ran over the day after i bred him and i got 8 pups out of him and keep 1 male and 1 female, out of my sy dog Major Mcgee i keep the same out of his litter, plus i done a breeding out of him a yr ago and keep 2 pups one male and female, they both started excellent and very young like there father. but the male got ran over 1 week after getting out of the starting pen and he was totally smoking ol dad in the field. don't get me wrong i'm not promoting for anyone but i've seen what these bloodlines produce and i'm well pleased and don't plan to keep nothing but Sy blood in my kennels from hear on. As for socks she was purchased the same day as my dog Major was and they both was 6 wks old litter mates and my friend to this day has kicked his self for selling that dog cause he has told me. And she has turned out great and the same as my Major Mcgee dog.
My oldest son trialed him at 1yr 9 months old and this was his first trial and he placed second in arha lp in Loudon County. He isn't the fastest, but he is hard hitting, can gear down if need to, and true to his mouth, and has never run trash on me. he is also one of the most brainiest dogs i've ever owned and will stay in my kennel until the day he pass on, if nothing else but for the type of hounds he throughs in a litter.
I have talked to Rick G. and he is one heck of a guy and will shoot you straight, and thats why i'm staying with what i have and he has been true to date, and i have never regreted it sense the day i bought my first pup out of him Named Major Mcgee.
If you are interested in breeding, i have bred him some but mostly to what i want to cross with, thats why i have sy and blue sy in my kennel now.
Here is a pick of him, after his first win.

This is me and one of my son's who took 2nd at the ARHA LP trail in March of last yr.
Just send me a pm and i can get with you on anything you need to know on this bloodline, and maybe i can be of some help to you.

Briarhoppers, it is unbelievable how much your pup resembles the one I have that has Sy as his grandsire as well. The stripe on my dogs head is thinner but other than that, they look like twins. I'll post a picture here later when I get time.
