Dear beagled1,
I respect your thoughts on this matter but if it weren't for some of the humor on this board we to could have problems just like your dog. Maybe this board is a stress relief for some of us. I know it is for us. Just out curiousity, why would you breed a dog with these problems and did you tell the new owners of the problems your dog is facing? Best of luck with your dog's problem.

Beagled1,
You need to lighten up, I have never disrespected this lady, If she really believe what she claims than anything I say is not going to change that and I don't want to change it. I never called her any names, just having a little fun on a board where theres always alot of fun, people have made fun of me on here and I didn't think anything of it, I know better than that. If it's going to make you mad or upset than maybe you need to find another place to go in the evening :) Life is way to short to get upset over this fun making, sounds like you are a believer and that's just fine with me, but the last time I checked we still live in the good old USA and can have a good time if we want!!! Have a better day tomorrow!! May the force be with you. Matter of fact, I owe Carolyn alot, I'm making money right and left off mind-melting with 29.95 world champion dogs!!!! dboman

I bred that dog because I KNEW this was not genetic. An inbred issue does not turn itself on and off at will. I've proven myself correct because the pups are thoroughly outgoing and their owners are sending me nothing but good reports. Not only did I express my concerns about this to the new owners and give them resources and advice on socializing theri dogs & tell them what I've done to socialize them early on, but I also counsel them on diet and how to use it to prevent growth related joint issues I know are not in my breeding stock, but are present in the line.
For the record, I also utilize the Canine Eye Registry Foundation and clear eyes free of genetic diseases before breeding as well as certifying the thyroid function with OFA.

Beagled1,
I think maybe you should try to be as understanding of people who are just having a little bit of fun or perhaps being "buffonish" as you say. After all it is not every day that someone comes along that not only telepathically connects with dogs but also makes a habit out of conversing with stones and foliage. One must admit that this is a bit of a stretch for most people to entertain, and when they do entertain it, find it, shall I say....entertaining! As a psychiatric nurse for many years I have seen and heard most everything......including those who take personification to the extreme. I frequently see people talking to walls, imaginary friends or to themselves but most of them are antipsychotic drugs. On the other hand I believe that many people do connect with the world around them at a much deeper level, intuition does exist. How many times has a hunter sat there in the woods and then all of a sudden sensed being watched only to then see the deer standing there looking at them. How about sitting in a boat and thinking a fish to bite and having it happen. Being deeply aware of the world around you is a good thing and keeping a childlike curiousity does not make you childish in my book. I will admit that once while squirrel hunting I stood looking at the top a a huge, leafy nut tree and was bewildered how such a soft, warm breeze could sway the top of that tree, something so huge, and I then wrapped my arms around the trunk of the tree to see if I could feel it move at the base. Guess what! I could feel it, even though I could not see it moving. I remember thinking how incredible a discovery I had made on a personal level and I also remember hoping like hell nobody was on the ridge across from me watching this experiment, lest they think me a nut that fell from the tree. Oh yeah and for the record, when I walked away I think I remember the tree wispering something to me......thanks for the dance.
Now, please excuse me I have to go, I have a bunch of stones sitting on the living room floor that I am trying to teach to sing so we can have a rock concert! I'm thankful for the connection I share with Mother Earth and it is one I will never take for Granite!
Peace,
