DOG BOOTS
I’ve seen many different type & brands on the market. They are made of anything from leather to rubber.
Directing these questions to the Beaglers with experience using these protective boots on dogs, what are the best ones on the market? Also do you have links to companies that carry the boots you’ve used?
I have from time to time had beagles that get cutes and small chunks taken out of their pads while hunting. I want dog boots that a beagle can wear while hunting to protect their feet while they heal.

They look good but mine wouldn't keep em on for nothing,, now my little Scooter digs hats and goggles!!! You've got to see the looks we get when we prance him through Petsmart after a morning hunt, filthy dirty and hat and goggles on!!! We had a little kid come up to us and say them goggles keep the briars out of his eyes don't they mister... Yup they get the job done, son.. Little kids just love Beagles to death and they're always all over them when we bring em in there!!! Good luck, if you can get yours to wear them boots!!!

I ordered some boots from a mid West company that makes them for sled dogs. Price is reasonable. The solution to keeping them on is application of duct tape in the right locations- over the velcro, around the top just catching the hair and around the narrow part just above the pads (? wrist). Rip tape in half and don't wrap to tight or you won't need boots. lol It might come to me where they are from or you can post at Beagles Canada and the old guys lol will give you the name. These are light weight nylon boots. Small size for beagle paw. May have to find the site sooner than later to order some for the hairless dog- she did not like the -20 celsius this morning.

I tried a lot of different boots and found none that suited me until I tried boots from http://www.nocksackracing.com The woman makes them for sled dogs. When I put them on, i do just as show dog outline above with no problems. These boots are inexpensive and very effective in preventing foot problems on crusty snow. The woman who makes them is Kathy Pickett. The latest phone number I have is (207) 539-4324
