I've always used Nemex, but it's better to catch them early.

Tapeworms in beagles do not pose as big a health problem as most of the other worms. My advice is to wait until about a week after she whelps then tapeworm her. Droncit and Drontal + takes care of tapes.

Vets say if you do use a wormer during pregnancy, use a puppy wormer.
ex: Nemex 2 or Strongent T (spelling)

These do not get tapes.
I would wait, as Oakhill has said, until the pups are born.

Wait until pups are weaned then give her safeguard. Will kill all the worms. try this website. Very informative.

The problem with waiting to worm her until after the pups are weaned is then eventually the pups will be motoring around and they WILL get them too. You will have a hard enough time getting the roundworms, let alone trying to treat a litter for tapes too. VERY EXPENSIVE. Im with Oakhill on this one. Drontal will cover all worms, after giving it use strongid ten days later. Also once the pups are two weeks old worm them. Again at four weeks, six weeks, and eight weeks. I worm both the pups and the dam. Some wormers have you do it more frequent. I use strongid (Pyrantel pamoate ). For round worms Panacur is safe to use on a pregnant bitch. Good luck to you and your litter!

I just had the same thing with a pregnant bitch. She was haveing alot of problems so I took her to the vet and they gave her a shot to clear out the tape worms, cost about $15-$20. Cleared them right up.......
