I am in no way against women hunting. I think alot more women would enjoy it if they would ever try it. Women outdoors is cool. Women or men, bashing a fellow hunter on a message board about his kill, thats not cool. IT WAS FOR A REASON!!! CATS EAT RABBITS!!! Whether or not its there main diet, who cares!!! CATS EAT RABBITS!!!

I am sorry that you feel the need to ask me to leave this forum based on my post on this subject. Best I can tell, I made NO "bashing" remarks to or about anyone. I respect all the posters on this board and would never dream of "whinning" about so and so who killed an animal, but I can post my opinions just like every one else (it is a public forum on the INTERNET). Just for the record, I have done some hunting, but I don't find it particularly enjoyable anymore.
I field trial my dogs and I have a very good friend that hunts them. I am NOT anti-hunting because I understand the importance of "checks and balances" as I stated before. I don't have to defend my position on wildlife to any one, but just so you know, I do enjoy seeing animals in the wild because that is where they belong. I do feel that HUMANS have created a bigger problem trying to "manage" populations and due to encroachment into wild areas. Thus the need for hunting for territorial control. Just as another poster said, the building has "squeezed" wildlife into smaller and smaller areas which then makes them a nuisence to people.

What point were you trying to make by quoting "I am a woman" and the same with MSU Dawg? Then you go on to try to justify how much you like women who hunt???? Seems like to me you could have just stated your comments with out the QUOTES. Are you a "woman-hater" or just like to "rag" on women? I bet you probably brag to your "buddies" how tough you are on your wife/girlfriend (put her in her place). I am sure that you are probably the type to also say something like "you know how women are..." MSU Dawg- as a fellow woman hunter I also love and appreciate the animals. I do hunt, but I've only ever killed a handful of rabbits and a few squirrels. Mostly I just go along with the guys and enjoy the dogs and outdoors. That being said, I totally disagree with your post. You keep making the point that if you aren't going to eat it, or it's not a coyote, it should not be killed. I guess because it doesn't "need" to be killed. How many people out their do you think actually NEED to hunt for food? I'd venture to guess a very, very small percentage-so does this make everyone else wrong? Yes, we may be eating the meat, but we also have the money to go get food at Wal-Mart rather than kill the animal. According to your thought process we should then not kill the animal, correct? Do you know how messed up the population of animals would get if only those who needed to kill for meat hunted? Maybe you could clear all of this up for me because I'm very confused. -Stacy

O.K. MSU. You got me I do it because it is a blast. I am a predator.I stay within the laws and regulations that some very educated people have decided would keep everything in balance. I also let the 5 and 8 year old shoot sparrows out the bathroom window.WHY? Because they love it.

You will never guess why I hate cats. It's not the obvious, kill anything I can just for fun, attitude they have. It is because they remind me of some women I have known. they use you till they get what they want and then drop ya like a hot tater! LOL!!!!!

MSU, If your going to be a treehugger then maybe you should find another forum. This is a hunting forum killing the predators gives us more rabbits for the dogs to chase. So your pretty much saying if you had some chickens and cats were killing them you would just let them do it and not kill the cat.

MSU good morning to you. First let me say that I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions and though I don't agree with your opinion on Bobcat I do agree that you are entitled to your opinion.You keep saying that bobcat pose no threat, the diet of your bobcat sure differs from bobcat in our area.The number one killer of domestic livestock in our area is the bobcat ( it would be coyotes if we didn't work hard to keep their numbers down), the number one natural predator of deer in our area is bobcat, they can and do kill grown deer and account for a large numer of dead fawn each year.The toll a bobcat puts on the local ranchers is huge each year...why?....because they are stealthy hunters and deadly killers.Normally they don't pose a threat to humans but the biggest reason is because their numbers are kept at bay.If they became heavily populated ( and they multiply rapidly ) that threat would increase drastically because they would have more competition for food and would search elsewhere to fill their needs.Two years ago a large bobcat attacked an older woman's stock dogs in her front yard and she finally ran it off with a broom.It lurked around just out of her reach all morning and she finally shot it,sending it's head off to get it tested for rabies.No rabies, just a hungry cat.
What I have posted is true for our area.Take whatever stand you want to on the subject of bobcats, egos or anything else and though I might not agree with you, I will accept your rights to do so. I hope you will take the time to study up on the beautiful bobcat ( yes I think they are one of the prettiest of all wildlife ) because I think you will find they are not the harmless little creatures that you seem to think they are.
One other minor point....in this part of Texas a bobcat is considered one of the deadliest, most destructive creatures there is and there is an open season on them the year around, they are a rancher's worst nightmare and they have been the main participant in wipeing out a once healty population of quail, taken a heavy toll on wild turkey, rabbits and deer, and they are the rancher's deadliest enemy.
