We have planted both types at our club running grounds and i feel both are good. The sericea is real thick and makes better cover especially for young bunnies and both are good for them to eat on in winter.
Currently the wildlife biologists in Indiana are pushing the warm season grasses and conseling against sericia. They say the latter is "non-native, agressive and invasivie." Sounds a lot like us , doesn't it? In my experience, where we have serica we have rabbits. It seems to be the only plant I am aware of that will out compete fescue. The warm season grasses have their place but are not a cure all.
I think we have to remember that most biologoists have a quail predjudice.
