I usually feed it for the first year. I will take them off in 6 months if it seems like they might go over 15 inches.

I don't feed puppy feed. I feed a good quality feed to my dogs and when the pups start eating they eat the same thing the old dogs eat. The only thing I do different with the pups is that I put them on automatic feeders for the first 6 months unless they grow too fast then I take them off the feeder.

I start my pups on my regular dog feed ,i put it in a blender and then add warm water.I also leave hard dog food for them to begin chewing on when their ready. If you look at puppy chows ingredients my reg dog food is better.Al

No puppy food. They eat what the big dogs eat from 4/5 weeks old. Never had had a problem and I keep very big dogs. My logic: I start them on a certain food and they are not allowed to eat anything else. Thusly, they are less likely to search out junk when hunting. I hate it when a dog goes to some deer guts for dinner while I am hunting.
