line work?

Post by rabbitrookie »

On my last hunt when my dog buster was working a hot trail, if we seen the rabbit we were calling buster of trail and putting him on the spot where we seen the rabbit. Is this good for my young dog? Or should we let him work the trail till he gets to the spot where we saw the rabbit? Thanks.

rabbitrookie, No, and it's not good for your old dog either. Let all of them work it out. If a dog gets so far off the trail he is not likely to recover, then put him back on track, if he continues to work so far from the point of loss that you have to constantly place him on the track at a loss then you have a bigger problem .
