i just got me an old female to train my pup with and was just wondering what the best thing to do was. just tern them lose together and wait for her to get one going and hope that sooner or later he will start or is there something else i should do.

thet is what nost people do. and is the less stressed way. put them in a place where there is a lot of rabbits. stay away from deer.if the femal is a good dog it will teach the others how to run. don't get discouraged if the pup doesn't get started . it takes time after time after time.

Age of the pup will make a difference of how it goes. and also who this pup is out of

You don't what your pup to pick up any bad habbits from your older hound. Even if your pup picks up a few thing make sure you get him/her out on it own so it can refine what it has learned. And don't go upset if he/she does not pick it up right away practice practice practice. Summer is a real ruff time to train a hound there are alot of Does and young rabbits that don't have a strong sent to them right now.
