Tennessee beaglers

The TWRA has sent this as a recommendation to the TWRC to be changed!

Proclamation 11-11 Manner and Means of Hunting, Taking, and Trapping
o Remove gauge restrictions for turkey hunting (legalizes .410)
o Change caliber restrictions for muzzleloaders from .40 to .36 for big game
o Remove requirement that broadheads need to be of barbless design
o Add chasing of rabbits during night-time hours to a legal training activity

this is a good thing hope the law gets revoked even though i never stopped running mine at night never could see the difference between a coon hound blowing the top out of the tree and a rabbit hound sounding off on the track anyways hound music is hound music why stop one and not the other politicians should have more to worry about than trying to control our heritage

Don't give them my name and adress but I've been running my beagles at night year round since I moved to Tn.15 years ago.As jlcopeland mentioned why should coon and fox hunters be allowed to run at night and not a beagler?
With a deer season that runs for about 4 months and the hot summers sometimes the night time is the ONLY time I can get any running in!

I know what ya mean. Here in Michigan deer season starts in September with youth hunts then goes untill January . I mainly run public land and respect the others using the same grounds especially if they parked there first. There are many deer hunters in my area. We also get some hot days in the summer. Night time is the best time to avoid other hunters and the heat of summer.Luckily we have no restrictions to our night time running. I hope you guys get the results you deserve.Good luck.

Just wondering who we need to talk to and show our support on this? All the guys I hunt with we always run our dogs at night in summer. Our local warden in alright with it but we have a new young guy in the area now who says he will write a ticket everytime he catches somebody doing it. I hope he don't catch me or he will probably have to write me several more. Which won't be a good thing. I'm going to talk to my local guy and see what he says about it, maybe he can tell me who I need to talk to.

Well, we've all been breaking the law for years but luckily no GW has been sorry enough to write us up. I think it was one of those deals where leadership in Nashville told them to use it more of an "add on" if other laws like "hunting without permission" was being charged.

Kinda like fishing in a private pond with no license.
