I have been using the purple cattle ear tags for the last three years for fleas and ticks with real good results. Now that the ticks and fleas are out again I am getting ready to put them back on my dogs. I have a female that is in her sixth week of her pregnancy, so the question is. Is it safe to use these on a pregnant female? I don't won't to do anything that will harm the unborn pups. Any information or thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

i am not sure what the active ingredient in the tag is most contain an insecticide. I would avoid using on on a pregant gyp. i would dose her with ivermectin instead. No tetragenic affects reported in dogs with ivermectin use.
Good luck

All I know is don't let young puppies chew and eat on them or you'll find them dead within a couple days time and there is absolutly nothing you can do. We lost two Rip pups and a Black Magic pup to them last year before we knew what was going on. Good luck. I would not use them on your prego female.

Thanks moonshine and Elliott for your input. That's kind of what I was thinking.
