Pinks Little Bugar Man

I know what he produced(Big Time, Biff, Hunter) but what was he like and was he ever trialed. Basically what did people see in him that made them want to get a pup. Just looking for some history of the hounds I have.

Town Hound I don't know anything about the dog in question, but I do have 2 black and tan males with Big Time as the the grandad and Bugar Man as the great grandad. These dogs show great potential, as they are young, big mouths, good nose. One is very fast with decent line control and the other is pretty quick but has a lot better line control. Can you tell me about yours that have Bugar Man in them.

The story on buger man is an intersting one, and I am sure that you will get plenty of intersting answers. I have heard he came from brace blood, but have never taken the time to research it. Sam Wells can tell you all you want to know about Big Time as well as his sire, since he hunted him a lot with Mark Swartz as a youngster. I will go from what I know and that is about big time. If he were alive Big Time would be 20 or more years old. I never saw Big Time run but Jimmy Abshire, sam wells, earl bruner and many others that have been around little pack for awhile have. They all said he was a jump dog, that got stronger as the cast or the day went on. Back then arha casts were 1.5 hours. They say he hunted deep and could run it when he got it and would flat out kick your a-- the last part of the cast, he had a big bawl mouth and could pound. Biff wasn't as fast as Big Time but was also a very good jump dog and a good track dog also, he had a chop mouth. Cali who is the great grandma on the dam side of your pups was also a GRRCH, she was also a very good jump dog and did well under the gun and in trials. If you look on the arha page under Hall of Fame hounds, you will see Biff and Big Time. You will also see plenty of dogs sired by big time in the HOF. He is in the Hof as field champion as well as a reproducer.

To Townhound. I own Uno, he is a 14 3/4 inch hound with good hunt and very good foot speed, he is a gun dog deluxe and can run a rabbit, He has gotten a little rougher as he has gotten older(7 yrs old)he will swing in the check area but runs a good line. He can handle a track when he gets it and doesn't need any help. He has a big bawl type mouth. He is a champ in arha and ukc. Jezebel is a 13 inch black and tan female, she has extreme hunt and has upper medium foot speed. She has a loud chop mouth and also runs a good line. She has never been trialed and she is owned by a buddy of mine(Mike Drummer) in Brown Summit, NC. Uno has had over a 1000 rabbits killed in front of him, and Jezebel has had over 500 killed in front of her. Hope this helps

Pink's Little bugar Man was owned by a fellow that is deceased now and lived here in Richmond, Kentucky by the name of Orlando Pinkston. Pink was the man that got me into rabbit hunting 46 years ago. Bugar Man was a chocolate and white 14--15" hound that was the total package. It seemed like he could make a rabbit out of rocks when our other hounds couldn't find them and his line control was second to none. His speed was between 8-9 and he was an all day, every day hunter that got stronger as the day went along. He was trialed very little because Orlando said he didn't have time to trial him but I feel real good about his chances of making a field champion if he was trialed. Could have trialed in Mid West and ARHA.
