Bitch in heat again????

Post by green river »

I have a 7 year old bitch that just went out of heat last month. She's had 3 litters and her last was Feb. 10 (the last day of rabbit season here). 3 weeks ago the vet found a mammory mass and took a sample and found abnormal cells and we are keeping a close eye on it. My question is, have any of you had a bitch come in heat so soon after the last cycle. She is showing some swelling, but no discharge. My male is going crazy trying to get to her though, and that's what has brought this to my attention. Any ideas???????

Sounds like a split heat cycle. The article below explains it better than I can with much less typing ;-)

I don't know, but I have a 2 year old female that I bred to my Branko FC 4/26, 4/27, & 4/28 and she had pups on 6/25. Well low & behold, she came in again, when I went out to the kennels today, they were tied up. I've never had one come in this soon after pups, heck, she just weaned last month. Of course, this isn't as soon as yours, but I was still shocked.
