Injured Spine

Post by bucks better beagles »

I have a beagle that was hit by a car at the very tip of its spine just above or right at where the tail leaves the body. He limped a while and was sore but gradually regained all function and acts normal...with one exception. His tail hangs straight down. He doesn't wag it at all. He has had a cortizone injection to no avail. This was a couple months ago. The vet says that the tail will be OK.

What do you think? Suggestions?

Lucky it was that far back for your dogs sake. I would be thankful that he doesn't have any leg problems, Heck alot of bird dogs don't need a tail. Good luck with him.
