bag balm/ utter butter?

can you use or should you use a product on a nursing mama like these. She is already looking a little rough around the edges. As long as I dont block the milk hole?

define "rough around the edges?" I think you are a worry wart ;-) I have never had a bitch have any issues with nursing that required ointment in over 20 years of nursing bitches. Don't put anything on her that the puppies will get on them or in their mouths. Just relax and let them be. The only thing that you really need to do is to keep the puppies toenails trimmed short so they don't scratch her breasts. Now GO watch TV and let them be!! LOL

I agree with Leah, skip the bag balm and trim the pups nails short (Carefully!!).
Dremel them if you can so they aren't short and sharp. Just be super careful not to cut or burn the little puppy toes ;)
Then go watch TV, lol.

We start clipping puppy nails weekly from babyhood on as it trains the quik back and helps produce a nice looking shorter nailed foot. Gotta love those beautiful beagle feet. My Honey has the nicest feet I have ever seen. I worship her feet, lol. :halo:
