dog running queston
I have been having a similar problem but with older dogs being run in big packs... I run with 3 other guys and they want to turn out everything they have when we go and there are two or three different speeds of dog in the group... When the faster dogs get ahead and have a check the slower group is still coming on the same track... The dogs up front come back and honor the slower dogs whom they believe have found the line they lost only to find out they are just sucking hind tit....LOL After a season of this I have seen the faster dogs stop paying so much attention to the slower dogs... In the end I feel the handlers are the ones that need to learn how to match dogs up for the best possible running.... If your fast dog and the pack are both running the rabbit and one causes the other problems related to speed I don't think soloing will straighten that out... sounds like the fast dog is already soloing..... You just can't run Volkswagens against Porsches even though they have similar engines...

Solo him is my opinion also. He needs to learn to run more on his own, not just blow out down the trail and lose it, then come back to the other dogs. I've got an 8 mo. old Indian Hills pup doing the same thing. I'm soloing about 4 times to every 1 time I brace or pack him now. It's working pretty well.
