Is dog pregnant?

Post by SMytyk »

It's been almost 7 weeks since she finished her heat cycle. I kept her seperated from my male. Her nipples are swelling but her abdomen is as flat as it has always been.

Are you saying she wasn't bred? Sounds like a false pregnancy to me. you might still watch her. Normal gestation is 9 weeks.

I doubt she took. 7 weeks after "breeding" she should look real fat. I've got a gyp my FC bred 6 weeks ago and she due around the 17th and she's showing real well. If it was her 1st heat cycle, the nipples often swell, sometimes even future cycles they'll swell, but not swelling until 7 weeks later is weird...

Thanks guys. She was pregnant. I guess she didn't get big because there were only two puppies. Delivered them last nigh.
