Re: diffrent dog another problem
You definately got somthing going on. Take a stool sample of at least one of the dogs into your vet (you shouldn't need to take the dog) and ask them to run a fecal on it. At least know what your treating. You can treat with Albon but, its RX so, you'll need a vet anyway unless you mix your own. I found that its just as easy to ask the vet rather than mix up that nasty stuff and then you have to make so much it goes bad if you only have a couple of dogs. Have they been wormed lately? I'm not terribly crazy about the food choice myself. If you have a sams club or costco membership their foods are much better ingredient wise.M&M wrote:1yr old male has blood in his droppings and loose(ol roy high protein) one dog passing feed the other has blood can dogs have coccidiosis

Could be coccidosis, worms, or even colitis. I had a few dogs with colitis over the summer and symptoms were similar to what you're describing. They were passing mucous and/or copious amounts of their food, which seemed to be poorly digested. One had blood in with the mucous ... I definitely thought it was something much more serious, but vet diagnosed it as a bad case of colitis.
Try worming these dogs with fenbendazole or maybe even try a food change.

I've been really happy w/ Evolve Adult Maintenance (their pup formula not so good). We get large litters with it, extra thick coats and lots of energy. I feed less than half of what I did with some other feeds. If I'm running the huonds daily or several times a week, the most I ever feed is 3/4 cup in the AM and maybe 1/2 cup in the PM. Bitches in whelp eat no more that two cups, and maybe 3.5 cups while nursing pups. One bag last a long time - about a month with nine dogs (two are Shepherds) when I add scraps. Its about $32 for the 40# breeder bag.M&M wrote:would you all be so kind as to recommend some good dog food. I work in the poultry industry and am familiar with cocci and it's appearance under a scope but had no idea dogs could get it (I'll scope a stool sample and see if I can detect the ocyst in the fecal matter.
