SHOTS VET vs SELF

Post by Guest »

I have some questions that hopefully some of you can help me out with. Dogrunner and I are going to be trying to get into Field trailing in the next year or so and I was wondering if they need vet records on the dogs or is it okay to give the needed shots ourselves. We are getting 3 pups and another 2 year old next month. He was suppose to be home to take care of all of this but it looks like he is gonna be delayed yet again. I was just wondering if it was okay to administer the puppy shots myself or should I get a vet record going on them?? All the information you can send my way would be greatly appreciated. I want to learn all I can about Field Trials before he gets home so he can just dive right in. Thanks in advance for your help. I really enjoy reading the boards, sounds like everyone here is a real tight family of beaglers.

God Bless America!!
I love you Dogrunner and please hurry home!!

There is no requirement to show any vet records at a hunt. The only thing that you will need is your money and the dogs papers.(LOL) You do need to be advised that some states do not recognize rabies shots unless they have been administered by a vet. You never know when the old dog warden will show up and ask to see proof of a rabies shot. To my knowledge that is the only shot that is required by law. Hope this helps.
