Isn't this getting boring?
Is this what these boards are all about? Coming up with a topic that will really turn someone's crank and produce page after page of "he said she said" arguements? I understand the need for people to stand up for what they believe in, but goodness! I originally came to this board to learn something...and I have. But lately it seems all you want to do is bicker back and forth.

Happens about this time every year;
Can't get the dogs out because of the foxtail and cheetgrass
and everything is out of season 'cept hayfeaver
Guess we can always daydream about better days
Ah-yes

I think alot of it is cabin fever/ going stir crazy. I know I've been on alot lately due to being homebound on doctors orders. I find some of the threads to be informative and interesting but some are sort of like a bad wreck....you just have to look to see whats happening. I've met several on here that I'm really looking forward to hunting with this gun season and there is a few that I suspicion are so miserable and set in their ways that they are here to just vent and try and make life miserable:roll: . As the old saying goes"To each his own." I do think that the majority of the folks on here are good people and would help you out if you were having a problem or share dog information with you. That is why I keep visiting this site.

Blunder, you have a nice stack of rabbits there. Appears to be around 12 or 13? Please tell us about that day of hunting, so we all can read a good story. I for one love to hear good success stories and it looks like you had one that day. If anyone else had a good day in the field lets hear them to.

After setting out here on the back deck watching my dogs run this morning. I was reminded once again of why I continue to feed and fool around with my beagles. It's a hard feeling to beat to see and hear your hounds really burning up a hot rabbit. It must be in the blood or something. The first rabbit race this morning started when the rabbit jumped up no more than 2 foot in front of my ol'plugs and had to run over 50 yards across an open field to the thicket with 2 dogs trying their best to catch him. I whistled them back in to put up after letting them run for 5 hours and noticed they were still ready to go after running one rabbit after another in this summer heat.

mike, i'm not sure but i think cheetgrass is what we call dishwater grass.
like the kind that used to get around our grandma's back porch where she threw out the dish water. foxtail is a long stemed grass with a top that looks like a foxtail. it's maybe 2 foot high with a pod on top that may be 2 inches & looks to be covered with hair.

Both these grasses are the nastiest grasses you can ever run into... The beards of them can go up the nose canal, in the eyes of the dogs, in the ears, in their privates, and between their toes, all very serious injuries happen from these grasses. Not only dogs are affected by this stuff. If a dog snorts a beard it can slowly kill the dog, goes into other areas well just imagine what it does. The grass only works forward it don't work backwards so which ever area it is pointed into that is where it goes till it goes all the way through or you pull it out if you can.

For the life of me don't know why anyone would buy this junk and think it is ornamental. It is terrible to get rid of once started.

I don't mean to start anything here but lined out, aren't you starting you own bashing topic here? I myself have learned and helped alot here. I just take the good with the bad just like every thing else in life.
Also, I participate in UKC events in Rossburg, (or something like that), that is just south of Liberty. Have you been to their events? I would like to meet you there sometime if possible. They're next hunt isn't till September. E-mail or PM me.

I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.
I think there is a BIG difference in bashing and having a dialog of differing opinions. Bashing is when folks get on here and call each other names and puff up their chests wanting to get physical. Pretty hard to do on the web. I think there is still a lot to be learned even in some of these controversial topics and everyone is entitled to an opinion. What I see sometimes as a problem is when one can't understand that these are opinions being expressed as I have yet to see anyone on any of these boards with a PHD in canine genetics, behavior or psychology. When the dog whisperer comes on here I will take what he says to the bank but until that time I'll treat all as an opinion and we all know what opinions are like!
