Bitch with puppies sounds like something hung in throat

Post by DRS »

I have a bitch that is about to have puppies in two weeks. I take her for a walk each afternoon. After pulling me around the yard she will start to cough. She will stop and it sounds like something hung in her throat like a cat with a hair ball. Should I be concern :?:

It sounds like if she is pulling you around the yard that her throat is just irritated from her pulling too hard. I have seen this with dogs when taking them out of the box and into the woods. They have such desire to go hunt that they pull and then start sounding like a cat trying to cough up a hairball.

If it goes away shortly, I wouldn't be concerned at all. Maybe loosen the collar one notch because she has put on a little weight around the neck because she is pregnant...

Sounds like a reverse sneeze. Beagles are predisposed to this, but it's harmless and there is no need to be concerned.
If you could get a video of it, it would be great to use as an example for the board.

I don't much about video stuff, but I know that some picture phones and digital camera's have video functions.
Maybe someone else on here would be able to help you out on that one.
