Head right on down to the Home depot and buy a set of Banquet Table legs. Then a sheet of plywood and cut it to size. slap those legs on and there ya go! simple and cheap.

yup thats what we done!!!! LOL You can get different sizes and height for the legs also Have some that are adjustable.
To make a nice non skid cover over it you can use some of that spray on truck bed liner Works great!!!!!!

I plan to set up a small area in my dogroom with a table and a good plain backdrop for taking stacked puppy pictures and the like :) ...similar to a win picture setup....and with more of a platform style table than a tall grooming table...

I like the little gray ones http://www.petedge.com/Master-Equipment ... goryId=192

Of course you need an arm and clamp if you are using it to groom. otherwise I've had mine for many years. The home made ones are good too. I got some banquet table legs and plywood and had some rubber on the top and its still going strong! Just google grooming tables and you'll get lots of info.

best of luck,

Leah

Here is the UKC standard.

*25. Dogs must be benched. The bench on which the dogs shall be shown must be two (2) feet high and eighteen (18) inches wide with the top covered with indoor/outdoor carpeting or some similar non-slip surface. (Dogs stand well on rough material while they tend to “cow down” on a slippery or smooth surface). Individual benches of a minimum length of 44 inches are recommended. If the benches do not meet these standards, the Judge shall still allow the show to be held, but should instruct the club to correct the problem and notify UKC that the benches do not meet the standards
To old to cut the mustard, you can always run beagles
