Shorts Pro

Post by bgalmania »

There has been a lot of discussion on this dog on the espo web site
http://www.espomagazine.com, just do a search on Shorts Pro. I have seen the dog run and I thought he was real smooth, good mouth and med fast speed. He is a big dog, 14 or 14.5 inches and is around 10 years old. I know that his stud fee is $400. His owner is P. D. Short and he is very knowledgeable about beagles. Email me if you would like to talk more about this hound.

Medium-Fast?

I've never seen Pro run but I have seen several of his sons and daughters run, none were nowhere in the vicinity of fast. :?:

Pro is closer to 16" than he is 14 1/2. In the UBGF and MAB world, Pro is considered a very strong hound. In the rest of the world he is medium speed at best and most of his pups don't even have his foot.
Once upon a time, a man asked a girl " Will you marry me?" The girl said " NO." and the guy lived happily ever after and ran his dogs as much as he wanted to.

PD Short and FC Short's Pro

Post by bgalmania »

For Pro to trial he has to be at or under 15 inches. He is certainly a big dog. To me he is med fast compared to what I have seen run. Here is a photo of PD and Pro. PD has said that Pro has produced over 60 FC's.

The last I heard, Pro has produced 61 Field Champions in SPO and Gun Dog Brace, and his littermate sister ( Shorts PTO )has produced several herself by a cross made by Vic Costanza with his Simba male. I've seen Pro with my own eye's, he has been well tutored under the measuring stand. Never the less, that doesn't take away his own ability to run a rabbit and hasn't taken away his ability to produce.

Pro Has produced at least 64 at this point, and will be close to 80, if not more by the time hes done. He is no longer at public stud, so good luck getting a cheap Pro Dog.
