BRANKOS BIG SAM
What can you folks tell me about this dog? How hes bred Who owned him? Anything....thanks.
Branko bred him out of FTCH Branko's Copper Boy and Branko's Speedy Devil. He was sold to Rick Dewsbury of Ontario Canada who trialed and finished him as an IFC. He was then sold to a fellow in the USA who had him at stud. I ran with him dozens of times when Rick had him. A decent running little male.

beaglebill - do a search on this site for Smokes Creek Syris McGee.....his sire is Branko's Big Sam. Syris was a top notch hound that died at an early age. There will be a lot more info. on this site about Syris than Big Sam. I don't know a whole lot about Branko's Big Sam - mainly just what I have heard from others. Although his name was Big Sam, he was actually a small hound, under 13". The only negative comment I have heard about him is that he was thought to throw pups w/ bad bites. You may want to make sure you check your pups bite before taking it home.
Good luck w/ you pup - I'm sure it will burn up a rabbit!

I owned a female one time out of Branko's Big Sam and Branko's Blue Alibies. She was about Medium speed. use her mouth right.Never had any problem with her running trash.Breed her twice to branko's Jackpot. The faults i seen with her and the pups out of her was they only had good hunt when they smelled a rabbit. To me that is the most important quality in a beagle.
