Trash Breaking
I have a black and tan female that can run a good rabbit most all of the time. However, I still have problems with her running a deer. I have turned her loose on all kinds of deer by herself and she won't run them at all. But when I run her with another dog she seems to do it all the time. Need help!!!!!!
I HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH MALE THEY CANT TAKE PRESSURE. i WILL TELL YOU TAKE A SOCK PUT COTTON BALLS ON BOTTOM PUT DEER TRAILING SCENT IN THEIR PULL OVER HEAD AND DO SOME SHOCKING SOUNDS BAD BUT I BROKE THREE HOUNDS DOING THIS THE SOCK MAKES THEM REAL PARANOID THEY CANT SEE ALSO THEY THINK THE DEER IS SOMTHERING THEM I HAD A MALE I DID THIS HE SEES A DEER AND HE WILL COME IN. HE WAS ALWAYS LEAVING PACK STARTING DEER HE WAS ALMOST SHOT UNTIL OLD TIMER TOLD ME THIS.

rshaw, can you explain your method over again. I would like to know other ways to break dogs from chasing deer. My method is very simple but a lot of time consuming. I have to take my dogs out to look for deer and that takes away my running time. I like to deer broke all my dogs because I don't have enough shock collars on all of them when I go out and hunt. If you can clarify your sock's method, I would love to try it.

I had a male that would do this. Would not start a race. But if someone else in the pack went, he would go with them. He wouldn't open up until he was about 100 yards out. As if I couldn't hear him then. The old go find deer and set him up wouldn't work, because he wouldn't take them. The only thing to do was take him out with known deer runners with the collar on him all the time and wait for it to happen.
