knot on dogs jaw

i got a question,,,,,,,i have a 6 month old pup that just recently got a hard knot on his jaw,,,this not is under the eye close to the opening of his mouth,,,,anybody got any ideas what it is,,,,,i gave him 1/2 cc of pen yesterday and 1/2 cc today to help with the infection till i get him to the vet,,,,,he eats good and plays like always,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks in advance,,,,,,,jeff

Sounds like an abcess to me. Does the pup have a fever? An abcessed upper fourth premolar causes a swelling of the face below the eye which is characteristic of what you have described. Have you been to the vet yet?
