A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
One weekend this season I brought along a coonhunter that I have known for many years. He has had both hips replaced and had to quit coonhunting. He had never been rabbit hunting with beagles before. We hunted two days and he saw several rabbits but didn't want to shoot any, he said he just enjoyed listening to the dogs run. He finaly killed one on Sunday. Here are some pictures he sent me. The first is Rose and Slimmer bringing one across the road, the second is Jerry with the rabbit he killed. We did shoot a lot of bull, it was a pretty good weekend.
There seems to be alot of old coonhunters that switch to beagles. Right now, I have both but maybe the day will come when I will only have beagles. Have you sold him a pup yet? LOL.
"Born to hunt, forced to work" fits me pretty well. When I'm not at work chances are I am in the woods with a hound of some type. I've always had a beagle around but the last few years I've got to where I would rather run beagles than anything. My wife went on a cruise ship this last winter, she had to go without me.
