Winter storm

Post by JPAT »

I have been looking forward to running my dogs in the snow this year but this is rediculous! I got hit with about 8 inches of snow so far today and they are calling for more freezing rain and another 8-10 inches of snow tonight. Is anyone else getting this or just southern Indiana? Josh Patterson

4 to 5 inches last Friday and Saturday, then got socked with 18 inches on Sunday, added another couple inches Monday and Tuesday, and it's not even Christmas yet! Could be a long tough one up here this year. Merry Christmas to all. Hare

Yeah, we got about 5 to 6 inches on the ground here in Jasonville right now and calling for 6 to 10 more depending on how this next storm tracks. Left to go to work this morning and snowing so hard couldn't hardly see to drive. Got to Vigo county line in Terre Haute and someone had turned the switch off.

I live in Dawson Springs, KY. Western KY. We've got about 7 inches on the ground now. The weather was saying by morning we are supposed to have 12 to 15 total.

I hate snow and right now I'm in cats hell with no claws LOL.

In eastern Ky, 8 miles from Va. state line, no snow, 50 degrees. They are saying we may or may not get it this far east. Don't want to wish bad on anyone, but you guys can keep it out west if you don't mind!

This evening had 11" sitting on top of the picnic table. Tonight, it's up almost level with the seat. All the tracks we made to the kennel are drifted in and I had to bust through the driveway again, to get in(all that shoveling for naught).
I fear some of the feed pans are lost till a thaw...lol...I kicked around and couldn't fine some of them, so some of the hounds got their Christmas present early. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the upper side of the pans and bent a piece of #9 wire as a hanger hook to hang the pans up on the fence.
All this snow and drifting reminds me of when Mike Capozzi told me about the snow at North Creek drifting so high, he would go out to find the hounds all on the loose. It would drift so deep & high during the night that the hounds went over the 6' fence.
I don't know if the gutters are going to stay on the house or not. They say this could double by tomorrow, then, you'll really see how big a cry babies we are...lol
***Make sure you keep the vents from the furnace and clothes dryer from becoming plugged with snow & ice.*** Don't want to hear about no house fires!!!
Wonder how many rabbits are plugged up in their holes? Sure wish we had some hare down here...lol
Snow hounds/snow nose, well boys, here's your chance to see if you got'um...lol
Need to go to bed, my back hurts, but to much running through my head. How much longer till Santa comes? That's it! I'm just excited about Christmas...lol
Well everyone be safe, pace yourself, allow pleanty of time and keep your gas tank full ;) ...Patch
