I watched them measure him three times and they came up with 15 1/8 first , 14 3/4 second and almost 16 the last.

thanks gabe for clearing that up,and what happened to one measurement???????????

have i ever measured him in a hunt?no,why,i aint scared thats why...............

just like with the whistler dog,he won a round and then was measured out,am i right?i am shure the dog was the same size in round one as round two,the only difference between round one and two of the whister dog wasnt the size of the dog,it was the size of somethin else possesed by the people runnin against him

that is ok,wilson will get his hof points, but be warned,we are partners on a blue dog that at 13 in. he wont be measured out,and ya think wilson is a powerhouse :moon:

shure,i know, rules are rules,,and whoever the people where that measured him was had all the right in the world, but why wasnt the dog measured before this???????????

because before,he was just a big dog, now, everyone knows he can wax thier arses so now they look for a the easiest way to get by him

anyone that has seen him knows if he is over or not,and rulz are rulz,i aint knockin anyone for using the rulz to thier advantage, but it just sucks that no one had a problem with him till he proved to the beagling world that he is by far one of the toughest mfers out there..........

I am new to the trail world and afraid that I don't understand. If a dog is over, why would someone bring the dog to a trail? Isn't this cheating? If the dog didn't get "measured out" in the first cast and won, didn't that cause someone who had a "legal" dog to loose? This isn't the dogs fault its's the owner, am I right?

I believe that if I ever get into this "sport" I will have every dog measured, every cast that I am in.

Maybe that would be a way to stop the "over" dog owner from entering. Maybe the way to do it would be to add another class, all dogs over 15. Then you could enter Walker hounds or Norwegian Elk hounds.

Again I am not trying to start a big belly ache here, just trying to learn the written rules and when they apply and when they don't.

this is the touchiest subject in the beagling world i believe, everyone has thier opinion, belive me,i have heard it all,and it is in every format,if a dog is over 15 in in arha lp,yes, according to arha rules,it is cheating, but that is not the point i am trying to get across, this is........

the dog has been to 3 world hunts that i know of,and countless other lp hunts, but has never been called up to the stand till now,was it because he was too big, maybe, but he has been the same size for years now,why didnt somone call him up then?????????????

cause he was not a threat then, now that he has been destroying cast after cast, now he is measured, was itbecause of his size,no,it was because someone knew they where goin to have thier hands full in the field..........

i wasnt there, but,i was told who all else was in the cast, two other dogs there are size questionable, but where they measured,no,why?

cause they where not considered as big of a threat as wilson,jmho............ :bash:

NOW EVERBODY KNOWS THAT....HES DONE,,IF HE BRINGS IT BACK ,HE IS CHEATING...NOT SCARED,, HAHAHA

I did the measuring.. He squatted the first two times when the stand touched him.. The third measurment was the most accurate one. He never flintched when the stand hit his back.

if he was over the first time why was he measured again then the second time he was in why was he measured the third time i have not seen a rule book in some time but what happened to the hound shall only be measured one time at a trial looks to me that this was a clearly breaking the rules and don't give me this bs that he squated when the stick hit him because once you lock that stand in thats your measurement period. boys you think that extra inch helps him out strike out jump and out check your hounds i think its that big ole nose looks like you might have found his fault if you can't beat him in the field you might be able to in the club house

HE WAS TO TALL THE FRIST TIME,,,THE OWNER SAID THAT HE JUMP,,,SO HE WAS ABOUT HALF -WAY LAYING DOWN ON THE 2 TIME...THE 3 TIME WAS THE BEST OF THE 3 ....TO TALL....THATS THE END OF IT ....IF YOU CANT WIN AT THE CLUB HOUSE, YOU DONT GET THE CHANCE TO GO TO THE FIELD... DONT REALLY SEE WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS ,,,, THE RULE IS THE RULE...STAND BY IT OR STAY AT HOME...

Jared it makes no difference to me if the dog measures or not . I have seen him go and have had the opportunity to judge Wilson .All that I can tell anybody is that MR WILSON is one POWER HOUND . I've saw it before even with my mutt if they don't think they can beat you they try and stick you . Hasn't did anyone a bit of good with my dog he looks big because of his big head and docked tail but he measures under every time . I have never put the stick on nobody if they beat me I'll train my hound better for the next time then get'er on . Jared you can bring Wilson and run grands with me anytime I won't stick you. You call me any time you want to go to a hunt I'll bring my mutt if I'm not tied up (740 260 1976 ) If your next dog is 13" they will cry it's to little when they can't beat you :baby: :baby:

why is there a height rule,if it really doesn't matter?surelly someone heading up these trial formats can get the rules they don't want, taken out.who put the rule there to begin with?it seems like no one on here thinks the height matters,so just get rid of it.

The rules are there for a reason and that's why the framers put them in there. That is also why when you see a speed limit of 55 folks want to go 65, raise it to 65 and they go 75, raise it to 75 and they go 85? WHY, because it is to there advantage to get where they are going faster. Every time a rule is compromised it oens the door for it to be comprimised again and then folks say well ole so-and-so is has or done it so why am I penalized. The FACTS are YOU got caught and the rule YOU were violating got enforced. My car don't travel 10 mile over the speed limit on it's own and NO dog enters a hunt knowing it is over the size limit of the class YOU entered it in. If you break the law or the rule then YOU will have to live with it. Facts are I, myself have broken knowingly broken the speed limit numerous times and have been caught only a few times BUT when I was caught red handed via a radar detector I've had to pay the piper for the violation. Funny thing is my wife drives much faster than I do and when she gets stopped she gets a warning but yet I get the ticket. Do you think for one minute I make the statement to the officer that I am being discriminated against because my wife always gets a warning? When folks knowingly push the envelope and get called out just take your medicine as YOU knew it could happen at any time.
