When I was really into beagles -- like breeding and keeping between 5-9 , and the occasional litter; I would cull at 8-10 months old. Worked well for me. I have always gun hunted not trialed.
Well I got back into beagles early this year, and decided to try a new approach. Go look for young dogs that werent given much of a chance, under ran, late starters ; the such. Well since march I have wasted alot time and effort and cash. So what I did earlier in my beagle career worked, and I should of stuck with it.
I think beagle pup prices are too high and the quality of available broke dogs have went down since I started this in 95'.
Just my 2 cents
kennel blindness??
