Pretty sure there's some domestic lineage in that bunny. When I was a kid, we had some tame rabbits get out and bred with the wild ones. Some looked similar to that one.

Jerwane, now I don t know but what I have learn on here that the two rabbits will not breed.I would understand it better about this rabbit if they would breed.But what guys are telling on here.They will not breed.

I have 50' ft. round pen that I sale some rabbits and use it for evaluation for baby pups at 8-12 weeks old ----sure is fun for the pups and me --lol ---anyway I have 5 gal. buckets for nests with a hole cut out of lid -BELGIAN HARE -- -last year I had litter of [8 ] hare and [2] looked like a cotton tail --brown with the white dot between the eyes --yes there is [2] does and [1] buck cotton tail in there also I took pictures of them --about half of the the people say yes and have say no --
ALWAY GO BY THE RULES AND NEVER A PROBLEM

Definately, one of a kind. I've never saw a wild rabbit that looked like that. Glad you shared it with us.

That frontal pic makes it look like he is crossed with a hamster. pretty rabbit

It's extremely hard to breed wild rabbits in captivity, but turn a domestic loose and it will happen. Just recently someone turned some white rabbits loose in the neighborhood (does) and now have seen some white and brown rabbits.

I would call that a piebald rabbit, seen it in deer.

This is said to be a young piebald swamp rabbit.

I have saw one rabbit that looked exactly like the blonde rabbit. Only time I've seen one like it I would say it was cottontail wasn't very big and ran pretty good. No houses or any reason for tame rabbits to be anywhere.
