Then you may have to worry about classes. At a lot of club hunts there arent enough grands to run and that could happen with champs. Maybe?

I really see no difference in winning the opens with 10 dogs, and winning the champion with 3 to 5 dogs.a win is a win in my book.JMO

I like the ideal of certifying them.

seriously though there are more opportunities to champion one but go try and champion one if youve never done it. sometimes it seems easy and sometimes it seems next to impossible.

I like the Certify. Always thought PP had the right idea on that. Too many gunshy dogs being ran in trials and bred. Should do it in AKC too.

I like the way the Midwest shoots over the winners pack.

That would be great to shoot over the finals in ARHA also.

if we could get the nkc to have the final cast shot over that would be great and it would be a starter. i really don't think there is as many gun shy hounds winning as much as dogs winning that can't circle a rabbit. put the both together and we have a rabbit dog winning in little pack trials. lots less champions and the objective that was set out to prove is accomplished.
it could happen. also not trying to sterotype little pack dogs i think that there are some rabbit dogs that win trails but it sure would cut down on the amount of champions. someone said it was voted on. why would you not want to prove you have a rabbit dog. why would you not vote yes to certifiy.
let honesty run through the veins of each and every judge at each and every trial at each and
every format.

LP needs to change the way a dog is awarded it's 100 points to champion. A dog that wins a 10 dog hunt should not get the same point total that wins a 50 dog hunt. Placing dogs should get points for # of dogs they beat (like AKC). There a LP dogs out there that have won state hunts that had less dogs then some of the club hunts I've been too. JMO

I think that no matter what you change you will have alot of Little Pack Champion dogs for the simple fact there are alot of LP trials every weekend. I don't think there are as many gun shy champions or champions that can't solo a rabbit out there as people think there are. I know you have swinging in little pack but if you read the rules they lean toward a dog that swings if that is not what you like run some other division. Also alot of those crazy swinging dogs are not as crazy if you turn them lose by themselves, alot of them will slow down and run more track. Also if it is so easy to champion out in little pack lets hear how many champions you have made in little pack. I know in our area even if there would only be 10 opens you would still have to have a good dog to win.

it sounds like you fellers wouldn't have any objections to the certification. i've had a champion or two as well as a grand or two. i don't chase points so i don't run in as many trials as some but i do think it would be away to limit the amount of champions if they had to certify. of course that and a nickel wouldn't get you very far.

I know there are some Champs and Grands that are worthy, but the good dogs have to have somebody to beat.

I aint never bought a dog or thought more of one because of a title in any format. I always make my mind up when I see them run.
