I would want to own Reggie, but only for about five minutes right before he sold for 10,000.

I believe I would actually pick Brankos Anna's Ann you want to talk about the cornerstone of a kennel and breeding program you cant get much better than that.

I sure would like to have my first beagle back. I was seven when i got him around nine when I shot my first rabbit out in front of him. In this kids eyes he was all that existed when it came to beagles. Did not care about foundation stock or the next generation just what was in front of me. His name was major spot and the gift he gave me was the passion to love and hunt beagles. Guys I love trialing and love the sport of beagling. I believe that some of us me included at times loose ourselves in the next best thing instead of what is right in front of us. Of course trying to find the next best thing is maybe what keeps us running almost everday of the weak hours upon hours, shoveling up after these dogfood recyling machines. Their are so many great dogs of the past and still today that I would like to own but none of them could replace Major Spot.

Guess I have been lucky enough to own his dream dog. I would not trade my Dutch dog for any in the world. He would cover four times the ground hunting than any hound in the field. As one old fellow said, "That dog hunts angry". He had an attitude about hunting and it was INTENSE and the best part he was smart and could run a rabbit with tremendous speed with CONTROL. I thank god all the time for letting me hunt him.

In his day you could kill more rabbits over him solo than many many packs. The bad thing is he has set my standards very high and I will be chasing his shadow forever. Interesting enough he comes from a lot of great old dogs like Blueback, Big Red Tracker and Ellison Ridge Redman.

For the $ : FC Brent's Prime Time finished at 3 years old ; instead of getting him like I did at age 6 (never been in a trial), finishing him by age 7, then dieing at 9 1/2 just when his pups just started placing and finishing.

Just to hunt: FC Wells' Silver Spring : I couldn't have asked for a better hunting partner.

Showboat, never heard anything about him I didn't like. I owned his littermate legs and bred a female out of her and Murrays Woody to Showboat before he passed.Legs had passed the month before this breeding so while James and I were talking I asked him to price Boat but he wouldn't. Boat passed away within a month, but I have three 5 mo old chances for my dream hound.
