Good hounds, but there are plenty of good hounds. No doubt good hunting buddies, but there are plenty of those too. That Jauan, though, he's one in a million. That boy's a keeper. Patience of Job, standing there holding his shotgun ready for so long. As for the issue of shooting at a rabbit running across a road, that's usually the only place on a strip job that you can get a shot, and later in the season the rabbits that ran across the road got kilt by some fine young man like Jauan so the rest run straight down the hill to get another load of bunnies ready for springtime pup training. Alpine, if you are ever in Pike Co., my son is 10 and shoots a 28 ga. single shot. One tip for Jauan wearing orange that my wife showed me that we use on our kids, vests are all too big so she takes a wire bag tie and puts it through the armholes in the back and pulls them together so the vest fits and doesn't slide off. Try it, you can adjust it to fit and be comfortable. Best wishes, and keep him in the hills or on a riverbank. My dad always said that the best bar to go to is a sandbar, fish usually congregate downstream!
