NC I have one of those .243s just like the one described. It is one fun gun to shoot. It did a good job on 2 bucks last year with 100 grain bullets. We have been trying to call some yotes, but have not had one come in yet. My buddy killed a doe Friday and went back to get her after dark. The Coyotes had already claimed most of her in a little over an hour.
Where's the earth shattering kaboom ?

i shoot a .270 win. and am very happy with it and have killed everything from groundhogs to moose with it. I reason i love it is that it is so versitile I use a 100 grain bullet for yotes and ground hogs, 130 grain bullets for deer and 150 nosler partions for moose.A .270 is extremely accurate round as well. If u need a rimfire choice i would go with a hmr17 it will make a mess of a yotr 100 yards or less.

220 SWIFT ,22-250.AND 243 ARE MY FAVORITES.I HAVE A 700 REMINGTON 223 THAT I'M USING RIGH NOW IT'S EASY TO LOAD FOR AND IS GOOD TO AROUND 300 OR 350 IF YOU USE A RANGE FINDER THE RANGE IS CRITICAL AT THESE DISTANCES BUT THE SWIFT AND 250 ARE FLAT SHOOTING .GOOD LUCK

Rufus,
You know dogs and guns. I have two .223's (a M700 LVSF and a Winnie M70 LW).
I also have a Sako in 6mm Remington (basically a .243 Winchester).

If you get the chance to try a .260 remington (6.5mm) give it a "shot." :D Basically, it is a .308 knecked down to a 6.5mm bullet.
:D :D
