Stud fees

I personally feel that stud fees are what you feel the dog is worth as a producer. A bunch of titles mean nothing if the dog is a dud in the whelping box. I try to keep mine where people can afford the dog without going broke and work with them on payments. I recall a big winning dog in the show world who was hardly used due to a 1000.00 fee and only frozen semen available. Who the heck can afford that? The dog was used a few times and never produced much. Not sure he even produced a champion or not. I personally have a nice dog that did a good bit of winning in his day (he's old now and its NOT parker) ;-) He was a complete dud in the whelping box. His puppies were never close to as good as he was and I do not offer him at stud and would tell anyone who asks that he isn't worth it. Honesty is the best policy!
Parker just produced a litter of 9 puppies in Holland. A good guesstimate of the cost is about 3000.00 for that litter. Are they happy? You betcha!

I knew you weren't talking about Parker, I've seen too many Great looking little Parker's running around, or should I say WALKING around.
I have always loved Windkist Beagles, But Parker really warms my heart, he can keep right on improving the bloodline as far as I'm concerned. He has such dominate genes you can see it in his grandchldren, which is fine with me. Gregg

Parker has produced well so far. I think I prefer him to outcross bitches rather than heavily line bred on his lines but, either one seems to produce. He has 25 champions now and 4 group winners (akc conformation) to his credit and his BIS son Uno as well. Can't ask much more than that from him and he is a great juniors dog for my daughter too!
If you'd like to see Uno you can see him at http://www.geocities.com/showbgls/index.html
