Chief long hair,
I didn't know of any UKC events here close. Roseburg is just south of Liberty a couple of miles. I don't run in any trials, guess that's why I wasn't aware of it. I do see trialers around a lot because I run around Roseburg a lot, down by the lake, but I always figured they were AKC.
I'm not wanting anything to get started. I agree with a lot of others that have posted that this time of year is hard to get through because of the heat and everything is so thick. I haven't been around this board long enough to see some of the posts that come around that really get people fired up. Again, not trying to start anything, just wanted to throw something out there that might make people think a little.
I see you're posting from Greenwood. I work out of an Engineering office in Greenwood on 31. Been around some of the country there and I think it's pretty nice country once you get away from the city. Ever been to Hoosier Trapper Supply? I make a couple visits there every year.
Luke
Isn't this getting boring?

Nice to meet you Luke. No I can't say I've been to Hoosier Trapper Supply. I'm not into Coonhounds. Where is it though, Greensburg I think? Maybe I should go there sometime.
Here's the history of beagle trailing in your area as I know it. Your right there's an AKC club close by that runs on the lake property. They have about 4 trails every spring. Next is the oldest AKC Midwest SPO club in nearby Camden Ohio, real close and just east of you. They have 3 trails a year and might add another one soon. The UKC club in Roseburg that I talked about use to be an ARHA LP club for a few years. There is also a new UKC club starting in September south of you in Vevay, IN but this club should also help out southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky. The UKC club in Roseburg might move just a few miles south to a home right across and down the road of the access road you would take to go to the Temple Creek ramp of Brookville lake. I like this club alot. They may not have a huge following but they're all about having fun. Give Hank Hinkle a call at 765-647-3635. Mention that you've talked to Da Chief and you'll get a good laugh.
Wardog, you right there is a difference between bashing and opinons but a negative topic is a bashing one, opinion or not, and it is more than what you say it is. Bashing in Webster's dictionary says "to injure or damage" so in my thoughts this is bashing because it injures or damages this whole message board, not just one person or group. That in itself is the reason why I said what I said. This topic had no choice but to go south. I understood Luke's fustrations and I appreciate it but I couldn't think of a way how this would correct it. That's why I said what I said but I left with a positive statement to Luke about meeting sometime at a hunt. It has to be up to the moderator of this forum to correct bad behavior but what a daunting task that would be to quell every little one that comes along. I wouldn't want that job. I don't even think it's a paying one either. I'm not about to get into an arguement you. I was in your own words stating my opinion right or wrong. I understand that you think I am wrong and I'm OK with that. Someone just told me it's much easier to express an opinion face to face than here. Facial expression and body language is totally missing here. We must be much more careful here with our choice of words because it can so easily be misunderstood. My choice of words must not have been very good. I apologize for that. I hope what I have typed here explains myself better. If not, this was my best shot and I won't try it again on this topic.
One more point here. Do you really think there is no "dog whisperer" here? He or she could be right in front of our faces and I'll be the first to say that I wouldn't know it. Maybe everyone on this topic is one but you and me. Ever thought of that? I do know of at least one and she's here all the time reading almost every one of these replies. She's probably laughing as I type this.

I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.
Chief, I don't necessarily think your wrong nor do you owe me or anyone else an appology. You are entitled to your opinion and in fact I agree that these boards eliminate the personal aspect of any dialog.
I will disagree that any topic is a bashing one until the "Striking" (part of the diffinition you gave for bashing) was left out as I think you'll find both positive and negative to about any post that is placed on any of these boards. That's why they are interesting as everyone has an experiance or an opinion steming from those experiances. I doubt you'll ever see a post where everyone will whole heartedly agree as the sport of beagling is subjective in and of itself. If the moderators were to step into every post that could go south they would probably be into everyone. You are also correct again in your statement that there could very well be dog whisperers right here in front of our faces and I wouldn't know either. What I do know is I watch Cesar Millan on the Discovery Channel quite often and if he's on here will he please let me know if I'm debating with him as I'll shut my mouth and listen.

Lined Out, I kinda said the same thing you did a while back on the spo site. Wondering why every1 was arguing and why couldnt I just hear some good stories to listen to. Well I got some great stories, seems like alot of people had some great success stories. I think Pappy told 2 or 3 that was good ones and Bev put one in the magazine. I guess now I kinda look at it like its a internet sitcom. Never know what is going to be next topic. Then there are the reruns, the topics like what WHat do you all think about Branko hounds. Maybe we should have a place to click on, like Most Commonly talked about topics. Guess thats the search button though, but its a good idea. We could have it under The Beagle and The Gamebag. Like I said though it use to get to me to, now I just use them threads that seem like people as arguing as time consumers. I read them when I got nothing else to do, like right now at 11:49pm. Well I guess I will go to bed, seeing that I dont know if what I said made sense or not.
