why does everyone like starting pens so much i started my five in the wild easy enough

i do like to use our clubs 25 acre pen in the heat of the summer to run at night since I feel safer knowing they can't get out and i don't have to watch over them as much otherwise i run stricktly in the wild 2 to 5 times a week for 2 or more hours a trip and sometimes as much as 12 to 14 hours a day on a weekend its a good time for me and my boy about the only time he gets away from his TV is hunting training or trialing

Well guys its another of those OPINION things, I have a pen in my back yard, its 120 ft long and 75 ft wide, I got 6 San Juans in it for now, That pen is used by most of our club members ,I don`t charge to us it, BUT,there is work to be done in it,every nite there is 2-3 guys over visiting ,some with pups other to hang out, most of the time they take out my pups and help me work my youngsters...... NOW, if you want me to start your pup, its $50.00, this is isn`t running a fabbit, its stricking the line and opening up,NOW if you want me to condition and get your dog running, its $150.00 a month, I have carry this dog to the woods, feed ,clean, worm, work with my collars and thats taking away one of my hounds day of training... Solo work is 3x`s a week 1 hour sessions at $250.00 a month,, NOW ,IF this is high, think about all ya get ;)

I have an acre running pen right beside the house. The reason I like to start a pup in a pen is because there are not to many rabbits her close to home.

if u want therm to start early use a small but semi thick pen some sight chases but have to push bunnie out of the piles . it will make them hunt hard cause they get all excited about seeing it and want to do it agin ...then move to a big pen or the wild with a lot of rabbits u'll have them goin soon.. i started foolin with my pups at tad over 3 months they were runnin by 4 pretty well jumping rabbitsa in the wild at 5 months now the one i kept is almost 7 months old and starts a few races even with the big dogs out there and gets checks on them as well and the 2 older dogs get trialed some and do pretty good. so thats what works for me!
