A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
My daughter came home with two in her head when she went on a field trip to squam lake. Hubby brings them home each time in the woods. I havent gotten any in the kennels yet (knock on wood)! They havent picked any up running either. Hopefully it will be mild like last year. When we first moved here in 2000 the dogs were getting loaded the next couple years. You would find them crawling up the walls in the house. How gross! Anything similar to a spider, doesnt belong in my house....LOL. Course we put a place in the lower end of a field. This year we are keeping the part closest to the house mowed down. Maybe that is making the difference?
what is this seven dusat u guys talk about an where can u get it, also what is shelf name or is it called seven dust in store. Also what u guys been using to dip your dogs in an wher can u get it thanks Scott
I heard that guinea fowls are very good cutting down ticks. Maybe you should consider raising some guinea fowl in your area and just make sure you break your deer not to chase them.
Around Minnesota here, those guinea should cost about $5-10 a piece. I know that because an old timer told me that those guinea fowl love picking on ticks.
hey guys ticks are really bad here in ohio this year. they are smaller and more of them. i use 7-dust on my hounds i dont like it that much i like front-line but its not cheap. mt hounds dont care about the ticks they just like to run a few rabbits. but i dont like them on my hounds are me. i have used all kinds of tick spray on me i thank it just feeds them ha ha. what are some of the stuff you guys use that works on you and your hounds. i havent been running much because of ticks. thanks guys steve.
