I have heard nothing but good things about Buzzsaw for a few years now. I have a nice little female pup that would probably cross well with him. Hopefully he'll still be producing for a few more years. Sounds like the kind of dog I like. Speed is nice but a dog that holds the line is a pure joy.

I cant answer your original question because I never saw the two dogs you mentioned run. However I think I can answer the spirit of your question. I have run with Buzz several times and he is simply one of the nicest hounds I have ever seen.I tried several times to get Lynn to run him in AKC Midwest. My own experience in midwest is that most judges are looking for the dog who is accomplishing the most.In that situation I think Buzz would have thrived.Maybe moreso even than his accomplishments in ARHA.
It makes me laugh every time that I hear about him not having enough foot.Buzz isnt a hound that Has to have the front all the time but he is plenty fast enough and is a hound that will make an overly competitive dog pay for his mistakes. It will be interesting to see what he produces as now there are more females being taken to him and I would think that there are probably more quality females being taken to him as well. The reports I have heard have been overwhelmingly positive but I think the owners of Buzz offspring can answer for themselves on that score.

Several years ago I made a special trip up to the mtns to gun hunt with Lynn and some others, to see Buzz go. To say the least he put one of the finest shows Ive witnessed. I think he jumped almost every rabbit that was ran (in the company of some A1 JumpDogs) and just laid on that track. I got curious in him as I own a grandpup of his and after talking to Lynn discovered that the traits that I was seeing were probably coming from Buzz. To say the least after watching him run many times at trials and the pleasure to watch him when it counts (gun season). He is by far one of the best "rabbit dogs" Ive ever watched. Consistent to a T.

As far as comparing him to Billy Jack or Slim I honestly never saw them run. Heard good and bad out of both. But as far as producing ability Buzz at least from what Ive seen outshines them by far. Not really meaning any offense to Billy or Slim, Ive seen several of there offspring and I was not impressed. I am sure they have produced good hounds.

Buzz is a unbelievable hound. If you ever get the chance I highly reccomend making the trip to Pikeville and go gun hunting with him.
IN MY OPINION THIS IS HOW HE RANKS!

Wilkerson, this is a pup I bought off of Will that is bred in reverse of your pups. Junie X Kelly Girl (Buzz Saw daughter). He is awsome to watch. Don't really make many checks for himself, just kinda flows on the line. And boys, Jimmies dog has put a hate for rabbits like I never seen into this pup. But from talkin to Will it sounds like he is getting his style from ol' Buzz. Plenty of foot just not runnin to catch. But, if they stay above ground he's gonna gut em. And,,, he's only 7 months old. Good things to come.

Old picture, he is run up quite a bit since then.

Greg u need to see max now  .....Aint quite as purty. He also stomped a mudhole in dads ass last night , junie has conceded. The valley is still  :shhh:
SAY IT AIN'T SO I feel like one of my kids just got drafted by the pro's. I'll bet he looks awsome with all that baby fat gone. I hear he got hind quarters like Seattle Slew. One of these days I'm gonna throw Moochie in the truck and head south. Don't want Max to go unpunished for doing what he did to Junie. Moochie WILL remind him that the air is alot thinner, and the view ain't so great following a dogs ass. LOL No seriously, next time I'm headin for KY I'll give ya a call. I'd like to see what all that potential has developed into.

Ya'll gonna keep me in the loop on the next Junie to Buzz cross.....ain'tcha???

I watched Buzz run in the finals of the HOY race this past spring and was very impressed. He got beat by a female, from ohio, that ran a good line and had a litte more foot than Buzz did. I would have liked to seen Buzz run when he was younger.

Ole Buzz got beat by a good female thats for sure JD,Crystal is a nice hound, funny but i had picked her to win the HOY with some friends of mine before it started that Morning, never thought it would have been Buzz she would beat to start with,i will say the two ran very good together, didn't they. Not so many years ago,he would have been up there bumping the front with her, really hate seeing him get old,but thats part of life we will have to deal with someday. Thanks for watching the finals,i had a blast win or lose!

Also by her beating him, evened it up between them,Buzz  (Ky Hound) beat her in semi-finals little world 06.Just goes to show that any of them can be beat or win.Takes some of the disapointment away when you get beat by a good hound and for sure Crystal is ;)
