Is dystocia hereditary?
I've been looking at a litter, and plan on getting a female out of the litter. Unfortunately the bitch had to have an emergency C-section. I'm not sure if this is the bitch's first litter or not. My question is, if I go ahead and get this pup, should I be worried about breeding her, is dystocia or "birth difficulty" hereditary? I'm not sure I will even breed the dog, but if I chose to would she be at higher risK?
i have a bitch that had a c-section for three litters that she had.i kept a daughter and had a litter with her and didnt have a problem.but i was worried to death that she was going to have a c-section just like her mother.if you do breed her just keep a close watch of her when she is delivering in case there is a problem.
