I named my kennel Polara Kennels, named that because my two hobbies are running beagles and old muscle cars. I own a 1964 Dodge Polara 500. It has a beefed up 440 and is in great shape. Thought the name was a little different than most and definitly original too.

I don't exactly have a big kennel or anything, but every beagle I have has my high school nickname in it Cooz, short for my italian\sicilian derived last name Cusimano.

My dad's UKC Treeing Walker coonhounds when I was a little boy. I added the Woods after Wells. I'd make him take me it seemed like every night for a long time. It was rough, but we always went to the tree no matter how deep & far. He pretty much quit coon hunting when he started going to church when he was 30 yrs old. He traded his last hounds for a pack of beagles for me to rabbit hunt with; every size, speed & color. That was over 30 yrs ago. They weren't much good looking back, but I was hooked as a kid. I eventually learned what a good hound was & have never been without a beagle since. By the way, he's never missed church since.

Well my kennel name is a no brainer to me. "PEYTON PLACE BEAGLES", my last name is Peyton so that is where my kennel name came from.

as i moved and was able to get a kennel licens i thought it was time for a name. as i was out runnning with a old friend of mine. i told him i am trying to think of a name for my kennel. he looked at me and said i have been waiting for you to say that. he said you should name it( CATCH A RABBIT KENNELS). he said he never seen a pack of dogs catch so many rabbits. as i thought about it for a minute i liked it. i was just mad i dident think of it

ROWCO: Our kennel was originally established over fourty years ago by Roy O. Williams in Greenville, NC. He raised grade pleasure hunting beagles for years. The kennel was then converted to a registered foxhound kennel for about 15 years where we concentrated on raising fast run and catch grey fox walkers. These hounds excelled in pleasure hunting as well as field trials. In 1990 we made a decision to return to our roots of beagles. We started with grade dogs that we registered with the ARHA. Our beagles were also bred to run and catch their game. Many field champions including Hall of Fame Member Fork Swamp's Butch, owned by Tim Allen, Jr., were from this line of beagles. In 2008 we made a difficult decision to abandon our line of grade/ARHA beagles and attempt to convert our kennel to all AKC registered beagles that possessed what is a must in our kennel, that run and catch mentality. All our beagles are now AKC registered and are begining to have field trial success. We are not completly where we want to be but we are well on the way and enjoying the ride! ROWCO Beagle Kennels is for Roy O Williams Co. Every time I register a dog, place an add, or enter a dog at trial, I think of my dad. Johnny thinks of his grand dad who started him with beagles. He is our hero and set the standards for our dogs.

Our's came from several different places.

We have a saying around here that we do it the mountain way. So we liked that. We wanted to honor the bloodlines that we like as much as possible and some of the people we respected.

So the name Mtn came from ky MTN .... ol dexter reffett and the WAY came from northway blood. It fits what we do and what we like and it was so and so it was.
